For some reason I’ve been watching call of duty Warzxone streamers play

they’re all millionaire nerds pretending to be cool

that’s entirely unfair, and I apologize.

most of them are millionaire nerds pretending to be cool

shoutouts to lucky, swagg, hector for codifying the concept of “content” for me, not saying they’re exempt from the above, by the way

warzone streamers play this game all day, like 8 hours a day MINIMUM

and the top players are essentially going for a “high score”

they’re going for top kills in warzone lobbies, typically in quads or trios (regardless of how many teammates they’re playing with)

and when they have a great game with a lot of kills (usually with a certain weapon or loadout) they will call it “content,” because the VOD can be repurposed and edited down to a great youtube video to build audience and ad revenue.

Absolutely no shade to them. The idea of working all day to perfect a craft to achieve “content” is so interesting to me. It would be as if jim carrey in the truman show were aware of his viewer count.

No it isn’t like that at all, because people didn’t tune in to the truman show for a specific skill set. It’s really more like if those cameras held by skateboarding cameramen attempting to capture another skateboarder do a cool trick or line were actually streaming live back in the ’90s instead of just recording. I’m very, very sorry about that run-on sentence. But imagine chad muska almost landing a sick as hell grind down 2 flights of stairs and yelling “damn I almost had some content!”

anyway old man yells at clouds. I hope you enjoyed this co

edit: I just finished writing this and realized there is actually no difference between warzone streamers streaming their skills for content and skateboarders skating their hearts out for a magazine cover. I’m sorry if you read all this? I hope maybe it caused you to think about how you engage with new, 21st century versions of “wares” and it what it means to offer them to the marketplace. If not, then

edit edit: if tyler can do it, then I can do it
